Issue in corruption in Pandemic in the Philippines mismanagement and overpricing by PhilHealth officials. Several senior officials of Philippine Health Insurance Corporation who are accused of making anomalous payments to non-COVID-19 health facilities and those with no accreditation. There was also an alleged corruption in procurement department where the proposed procurement of several pieces of IT equipment were overpriced. PhilHealth officials are accused of deceitful transactions and padded false medical claims, fake and bloated claims of health benefits, and treatments of non-existent patients. This incidences of corruption has undermine the much needed responses amid the COVID-19 crisis and has led to the victimization of the vulnerable, the sick, and poor Filipinos.
