It happened in Tennessee. A judge ruled that a couple could not name their newborn son "Messiah" because that name was reserved for only one person, Jesus Christ. The couple appealed the judge's decision and it was overturned citing the Establishment Clause of the Constitution that government decisions cannot favor one religion over another. What do you think? Should parents have the right to name their children whatever they want? Besides the religious provisions, could a judge make a ruling about a name with reference wot the child's well-being and safety while growing up?
