It happened. Society unraveled....For this question, imagine the wheels fell off the whole society deal, and you live in a band of 150 people in a semi-nomadic post apocalyptic setting (think The Walking Dead, The Last of Us, Mad Max, The Road, Zombieland, etc).

As it turns out, the survivors in your band were mostly off the grid types and the underground crowd. Everyone in the cties and even small towns fell victims of the end. Only two people in your band went to college, and one studied Puppetry and the other majored in German Folklore, so the group discovers you happen to be the most knowledgeable legal scholar of the entire group with 1/2 semester of LAW 101 under your belt. Plus, you were also carrying a copy of your Law 101 book in your backpack when they found you unconscious after it all went down.

Your band has started to settle and begin small scale agriculture and animal husbandry, combined with hunting and gathering. You occupy a small abandoned resort community that is easily defended against the isolated bands of maraduers that still roam the countryside. Your group mostly gets along but has had some disputes (often over scarce resources, major decisions and skirmishes over leadership). These have created an awareness of the need for a code or set of accepted rules of behavior.

The group has come to you and asked you to form 5-10 simple (1/2-1 page or less) rules of law for the group to live by. For now, they just want the basics covered (dispute resolution, criminal law (especially self defense), civil law, how to handle outsiders, and a basis for a simple government/constitutional law). More detailed laws can come later. They also don't have jails or courts per se so they'd need some simple punishments/consequences, and a way to decide disputes peacefully.

The band has given you till this Sunday at midnight to present "the law" at a campfire ceremony. Here the group will accept or reject it by a simple majority. Since your LAWS 101 book is one of the few the band has with them, they agree it can be cited as a reference "the law book"..
