It is almost Christmas, and the food producer Julekos AS must plan the production of goods in the run-up to Christmas in order to meet the needs of Christmas-hungry Norwegians. In its portfolio, Julekos AS has two products that are sold in the months leading up to Christmas, these are caramel pudding and rice cream.

The sales department has made the following forecast for expected demand for the two products up until Christmas, starting in September. Some people celebrate Christmas all year round, then demand increases into the Christmas party season before you see a huge need for Christmas treats in December:
