It is hard to use money as the only means of measuring the difference between poverty levels, particularly when comparing countries. Why is absolute deprivation a better way of looking at poverty?? It is flexible enough to account for various differences. It is an obsolete concept that is fading from use. It works well in some countries but not in others. It frames the question in terms of needs rather than dollars
