It is required that all patient data is stored, collected, handled and transferred in a fashion that upholds privacy, security and patient confidentiality (Canadian Psychological Association, 2017, 1.41). Currently, in Alberta, faxing records is considered secure (Government of Alberta, 2022). As email is not secure and there are inherent issues with fax machines and confidentiality, what do you think is the safest method to share/send patient information/records?
