It is September 2021. You are senior management at a major Hospital in Toronto, Canada. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, every patient and caregiver entering the hospital must be screened for symptoms of COVID-19 before being permitted entry. The process for a patient that arrives at the hospital is to answer a series of questions about recent travel, symptoms, and the purpose of their visit. Currently, this is done at the front door and as the winter months approach, the line to get in the hospital is getting longer with patients waiting outside in the cold. You are trying to propose a program where patients complete the screening questions via the Hospital's website at home 24-hours before their appointment time. If they 'pass' screening they will receive an email that shows a green checkmark they can show at the front door and bypass the long line and enter immediately. Pretend like its real-life and present your proposal to the executive leadership of the Hospital on how you will communicate this process change to the patients, and the staff that work at the front door doing these screening duties.
