It is sometimes helpful to chart the stages of a conflict. Think of a conflict you were involved in, and using one of the stages of conflict models, write the "history" of this conflict as a series of stages. If this is an ongoing conflict, what stage are you currently in, and what is likely to be the next stage? Looking at your history, what might you have done to change the direction of the conflict in a more productive direction?
