It is the responsibility of HIM managers to understand the seven laws discussed in this chapter. However, there are other laws this chapter did not address that could impact the healthcare workplace. Locate another federal or state law that you feel an HIM manager must have an understanding of as part of their managerial responsibility. Discuss one aspect of the law, and give a specific example of how the law will impact the operations of an HIM department.
