IT SHOULD BE DONE IN STATGRAPHICS.http://www.statgraphicsstratus.com/default.aspx
please dont forget the comments and screenshots. thanks
TASK for TODAY:
- Linear regression
- File -> Open Sample Dataset
- There is a bunch of data illustrating various statistical problems, yet we are going to stick to linear regression, select theShelf Life Study
- As soon as selected, data is moved to the active data file. GoHome
- Statlets -> Regression analysis -> Curve Fitting
- Select Y data and X data (chlorine and weeks respectively)
- Comment the results (RMSE, R squared, P-value, regression lines)
- Click on Opt. X to get the optimized fit not necessary linear
- Go back and repeat clicking Opt. Y instead.
- While choosing a curve to fit the data best, what would you look at?
Binomial and Gauss distribution
- Plot -> Probability distributions -> General distributions
- Select aBinomial distribution.
- The theory says a Binomial distribution approaches a Gauss distribution if the np is larger than 5. We're going to visualize Binomial distributions for np value to be 1, 5, and 10.
- Please choose n and p on your own but to match np given above. (For instance, n=50 and p=0.04 determines np to be 4).
- Move to theoutput tab. Comment the plots.
- Make sureResults to savetab has all the three generated samples ready to be saved.
- GoHome, thenDescribe -> Numeric data -> Distribution fitting
- Select the first generated sample. In the tabAnalysis Options, selectBinomialandNormalat the same time. Go to theOutputtab. Comment the results.
- Repeat point g for two other generated samples.
