It was April 2020, and Claire Tiderc, owner and founder of BeanCountr Inc., was reviewing the company's financial performance for its third fiscal year. BeanCountr was a financial technology (fin-tech) start-up located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Tidere had already reviewed the company's operating decisions over the past fiscal year and was now eager to review the company's various financing and investing transactions.
