HDR 2010 EN Table1 reprint Using the above report and the above links to the UN and considering GNI and GNI per capita answer the following questions. Use the GNI per capita rank minus HDI column which displays how the relative welfare compares to the GNI per capita. A negative number means the country does not fare as well in well-being as in income. (Hint look at Equatorial Guinea and some Middle East countries for examples.) A. What statistics or data in addition to per capita GNI are used to compose the HDI. B. Do the countries with the highest HDI also have the greatest GNI per capita? Why do you think this is the case? (Look at the top 25 countries in terms of High Human Development. Are they also high-income countries? Look at the bottom 25 countries in terms of Low Human Development; Are they also low-income countries? C. Can you make any generalization about high HDI index countries in terms of their GNI per capita? D. Can you make any generalization about low HDI index countries?
