I've been employed by Jisc as a Network Technical Presales Consultant since November 2023. Jisc owns and operates the Joint Academic Network or JANET which is my key focus for developing optical, ethernet and IP solution for the education and research community in the UK.
There are three types of preslaes projects - standard, non standard and cothemplex. So far I've owned and progressed several standard projects with solution design and costing and enabled commercial team with pricing, solution differentiation and value proposition. I've regular one-to-one meeting with my line manager Ewan Quibell who has hands-on approach and deals with complex projects as the head of presales engineering. My key challenege for the next 3 months is to aquire the necessary knowledge and skills in order to own, manage and progress non standard and complex presales projects. I would like the Chegg platform to suggest a strategy and help indentify the relevant resources needed from my line manager to fulfil his expectation.

The Network Presales team is responsible for delivering technical presales consultancy to support the requirements of Jisc Relationship Management and Sales teams, and those of members and customers.
The role:
The Network Presales function provides a wide and growing range of network services to Jisc members and customers. You will be responsible for delivering effective technical presales consultancy to Jisc members and customers. This
includes advising, supporting the evaluation, building, and supporting the sale of technically complex connectivity, and Network services. The role provides technical credibility whilst navigating the customers relevant priorities and strategies. The role is fundamental in linking digital solutions and their benefits, to the service and experience required by the customer.
