I've worked for Nissan for the past 24 years. I have daily contact with what we call the Nissan Production Way (NPW). NPW is a process or system the company uses to determine how things are done in the car manufacturing industry. NPW is used to gauge the flow of materials from three different perspectives (Global Strategy, 2013). NPW focuses on quality, time, and cutting cost (Nissan Motor Corporation Official Global Website, 2022). The product-process was introduced to the company in 1994. NPW was brought on board with the mindset of developing or achieving specific global standards, while improving efficiency and production. Nissan wanted to provide more variety for their customers through low volume and high-tech manufacturing (Nissan Motor Corporation Official Global Website, 2022). Although the process mainly focuses on the viewpoints listed above, I've also noticed it evaluates redundancies within the process. This department could use some improvement within this area. The company could implement flexible work schedules reducing employee turnover, provide initial training that covers multiple positions, and management should set reasonable goals for the workers
