Jack my translator from China now lives in the UK. He is learning to drive. He is not a self-assured driver he has low self-efficacy about his driving abilities. Jack grew up in China at a time when few people had cars. His landlord is teaching him to drive but the landlord is a fussy type. The landlord is very critical of Jack's attempts to drive. Jack gets nervous when the landlord tries to give him driving lessons. Use self-efficacy theory - mastery, vicarious experience, verbal persuasion and somatic and emotional states - to advise Jack on how to become a better driver.
