Jalil is a holder of a temporary occupation licence on a piece of land in Kuala Lipis. The licence was issued to him for the purpose of agriculture. He carried out some vegetable farming and also built a wooden house with three (3) rooms for his family to live in. Recently Manaf too was issued a temporary occupation licence adjoining to Jalil's land for the purpose of rearing fish.
About a week ago, the land near Jalil boundary subsided after a heavy downpour. Jalil feels that the subsidence was caused by Manaf's construction of his fishpond near the boundary.
Except for the problem with Manaf, Jalil is quite happy with his lot. In fact, he has found clay in one corner of the land. The clay is suitable for the manufacture of vases and flowerpots. Jalil intends to build a small factory to manufacture these products and sell them.Jalil has also agreed to rent one of the rooms in his house to Daud for RM300 per month. After staying for 8 months in Jalil's House, Daud refused to pay rent to Jalil, claiming that Jalil is not the owner of the land therefore Jalil has no right to claim rental from him.
Advise Jalil regarding all the above. Provide any related cases and statute
