Jason, an engineering graduate, had received sponsorship for the amount of RM50,000 from Yayasan Pelajaran Johor during his study at the local university. At the time the agreement was signed, he was below 18 years old. Under the agreement, he was required to work for the Yayasan for 7 years upon completing his study. If he failed to fulfil the requirement, he has to pay a compensation of RM80,000. Jason, also made transactions to buy a computer notebook worth RM1000 from Aditya Tech & Co and a high-speed motorbike which cost RM45000 from Buggati Motors Son Bhd. Jason then used the motorbike for travelling to university and took his girlfriend, Bunny for many joyful rides. During one of these occasions, he promised to marry her. They exchanged rings with one another. After graduation, Jason joined the Yayasan but left the Yayasan after serving it for 3 months even though his resignation proposal was rejected by the company. Now, the company is claiming the full amount of compensation agreed before. Jason also refused to pay for the computer notebook that he bought from Aditya Tech & Co and the high-speed motorbike from Buggati Motors Son. Bhd. Meanwhile, Bunny also drags lason to the court for breach of promise to marry and is claiming for damages and returns of gifts. Jason pleads that, since he is a minor his contract with all the creditors is void and he is not liable for all the amount claimed. He sets up a similar defence against Bunny's claim. Advise
