Jason is one of four members in an assigned group project for one of his college classes. Jason is hoping to transfer to a highly ranked university next year and his grades (GPA) are very important to him. He needs good grades in order to be considered for this prestigious university. Jason has always dreaded group projects. Based on his past experience with group work, Jason feels he ends up doing most of the work and other students have been unreliable. Jason's group project is due in two weeks and the group has only met once outside of class to discuss the project. The one time the group members did meet, two of the members were unengaged. One student was texting on her cell phone most the time and the other student was not prepared with any material. Jason feels that the meeting was a waste of his time. Jason has sent e-mails to his group members and only one student has replied. Each time he suggests a time to meet his group mates are not available. Jason is frustrated and beginning to, again, prepare the presentation himself in order to receive a good grade in the class. How would you handle this situation if you were Jason? How could this problem have been avoided? What measure will you take so that your group will not experience the same setbacks Jason is having with his group
