Javier was recently accepted into the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary's M$.$Div. program. Upon receipt of his acceptance letter, Javier received a $$50,000$ academic scholarship, which covered $$30,000$ in tuition and $$20,000$ for room and board at the academic institution.

The entire amount of the scholarship will be excluded from Javier's gross income pursuant to Section $117.$
