Jellystone National Park is a federal government administered (owned) park inside the state of Montana. Some grizzly-bears in the Park are leaving the park to eat local cows, sheep, and other ranch animals. Grizzly bears are no longer on the list of "Endangered Species," so states can allow very limited sport-hunting of these large carnivorous animals. Montana's State Game Commission implemented a 21 day bear-hunting season for some state-controlled areas (counties) outside Jellystone National Park. Some radical environmentalists from New York City are suing the Montana Game Commission. They are asking the judge to issue a "restraining order" that Montana Game Commission cancel the bear hunting season. The environmentalists argue the Federal Endangered Species Act (law) requires Montana to hold multiple "public hearings" before allowing hunting of "any animal that resides in a federal park." Montana held one "in-person" hearing in the capital city and then help 10 more "online meetings" to consider what people in the state (and other states) thought about the hunting season. Most of the bears technically "live" in the park but migrate off the park to hunt in the state-areas. The New York environmentalist group says one public meeting is "not enough" and the 10 online-meetings "don't count as public meetings under the applicable federal law." The Environmentalists post on their webpage that the "hunt will be stopped. We file our lawsuit tomorrow!"
