Joe and Mary are married for 6 years. Between them, they havefive children. Both of them were previously married. Joe’s ex-wifeclaimed physical and mental abuse. Joe is not happy when Mary isfeeding the baby. He becomes angry. Mary is afraid he will hurt thebaby.

Joe had been physical abusive to his biological children. He wasnever abusive to Mary or her biological children. Friends haveindicated to Mary that Joe needs help, but Mary feel that Joe haschanged.

Mary’s older daughter is afraid of Joe because her half brotherhas told her stories of Joe’s behavior. Mary depends on Joe forfinancial support and feels that she cannot separate from him.
