Joe is employed as a bar tender by The Blue Lagoon, a popular bar in Chelmsford. One day Joe was in the staffroom at lunchtime when he was attacked with a bottle by another employee, Al, who accused him of "taking his share of the tips." Al was known to have a bad temper and had been warned before by The Blue Lagoon about his behaviour. (It transpired that Joe had not touched the tip jar all day.)
