John, a 16 year old American citizen, is spotted by U.S. Border Patrol loading 15 illegal immigrants and drugs (250lbs) into a vehicle. U.S. Border Patrol shows up the scene to confront John, who makes a quick getaway thus a high speed pursuit chase ensues across 2 counties, Starr County and Hidalgo County, along highway 83. U.S. Border Patrol, Texas DPS and local law enforcement officers from Roma are in pursuit. John is weaving in and out of traffic erratically trying to lose CBP, Texas DPS, Roma PD. As John enters La Joya, he runs through several red lights, putting the public and those who he is smuggling in harm's way. Just as John is about to leave the La Joya city limit and enter Mission city limit, he comes across a busy intersection where he slams into a school bus full of elementary kids at 100mph. The end result is that several people are pronounced dead at the scene, 3 of the illegal immigrants and 6 kids. A disoriented John exits the van tries to make a run but he does not make it far.
