Jonathan recommends that you take a look at the network installation in your own office. You begin by examining the computer in your cubicle. A Cat 6A, unshielded twisted pair (UTP) cable runs from the back of your computer to a wall jack. It appears to use RJ-45 connectors. You then walk down the hall to the wiring closet, observing a mass of cables (also UTP) terminating in a number of patch panels.
