Seneca College and specifically, the School of Public Safety are committed to raising awareness, engagement and action towards reconciliation with Indigenous peoples of Canada.

In commemoration of theInternational Day of Truth and Reconciliation, the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police invited its members to sign thePledge of Reconciliation. The Pledge is comprised of six statements of commitment.

In this assignment, students will select one of the statements. In words (excluding reference list) identifywhyyou selected this statement. What is it aboutyourchoice that speaks to you?Whydoes it resonate with you? Having established your rationale for the choice, provide a detailed explanation as tohowyou will honour - or bring thispersonal pledge to life? Provide tangible,real worldexamples of how you can personally commit to the pledge.

Why is this pledge important to the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police? (provide in-text citation and reference list for full marks) How does this pledge (and specifically your commitment to it) apply to policing and public safety? Again, provide relevant examples to support your position.

Please note, one cannot simply say that the statement they have chosen is 'important to them'. Ensure that your choice is thorough and supported with sound rationale, and research where necessary to support your position, and in response to questions posed in this assignment.
