1/02/18 Owner Rudy Redhawk invests $25,000 of personal funds into a new business checking account for the business, Rudys Landscaping.
1/10/18 Rudy wrote check 101 to Office Superstore for $ 750 which included $150 for QuickBooks software, $475 for an HP laptop and $125 for miscellaneous office supplies. Individual amounts include tax. (You will need a compound entry)
1/11/18 Rudy purchased a used desk from Craigslist. He paid cash that he withdrew from the business checking account in the amount of $90. Rudy did not think the desk would be usable for very long, so do not use an asset account for the transaction.
1/20/18 Rudy paid rent to use a neighbors garage for February. He wrote check #102 for $1000 to Ray Jones. Rudy will store his equipment for the business at this garage.
1/21/18 Rudy went to Wally World and purchased a few groceries to take home to his family. He wrote check #103 for $85 to pay for his purchase.
1/25/18 Rudys friend owns a business and will hire Rudys company to provide services as soon as weather permits. Rudys friend wants to help him get started so he gave him $500 in advance for doing the work. Rudy estimates it will be April before he can start the job. Rudy immediately deposits the money into his business checking account.
1/27/18 Rudy purchased a Zero-Turn Lawn Mower for the business. The total cost is $3,165. The store offered Rudy 6 a note for 6 months of free financing with no money down. Rudy took advantage of the offer.
1/30/18 Rudy purchased some small tools (rakes, shovels, etc.) for his business. The total cost is $135 which includes tax. He paid for this with check #104 from the business checking account.
1/31/18 A snowstorm dropped 5 of snow, so Rudy took this opportunity to offer snow shoveling services to the neighborhood. He earned $550 in cash, and deposited the cash into the business checking account.
