Juan Valdez owned and operated a coffee importing business which traded under the named Granos de Caf Mexicana, and entered into an agreement to supply coffee from Mexico to the Gotta Have A Java Coffee Corp. Harriet Ganglinger is the owner and operator of the Gotta Hava Java Coffee Corp. which owns 12 coffee shops in Vancouver. Senior Valdez wanted Harriet Ganglinger to sign a personal guarantee to ensure payment if her corporation defaulted.
