He took a coat hanger which he planned to use to break into vehicles parked at the mall. The mall parking lot was full and Mr. Shifty went unobserved. As he approached Sam Moneybag's truck, he noticed that the windows were open about an inch. He also observed Mr. Moneybag's wallet on the driver's seat. Unknown to Mr. Moneybag, the wallet fell out of his pocket when he exited the truck. Mr. Shifty tried to unlock Mr. Moneybag's truck, but could not open it. However, after shaping the coat hanger into a hook, he was able to use it to pull the wallet through the open window. The wallet contained $500.00 and three credit cards, all of which Mr. Shifty took. Mr. Justice, the Assistant District Attorney, wants to charge Mr. Shifty with burglary.
