Justin, while negotiating with Tom for the sale of Justin's race horse, tells him that the horse was bred in Marvelous Mares stable. Justin is honestly mistaken, and, unknown to him, it was bred in another stable of better reputation, Superior Stallions. Unknown to Justin, Marvelous Mares was founded by Tom's grandfather, and Tom is therefore induced by Justin's assertion to make a contract to buy the horse.
