Kelly grows pumpkins and wishes to investigate the effect of an organic fertilizer on the number of pumpkins harvested from each plant. She hopes that the fertilizer will significantly increase the number of pumpkins harvested. In identical soils she has planted seeds in two patches: one using fertilizer and the other without fertilizer. All other factors such as watering have been kept the same for both the patches.
