Kemplant is a crystalliser plant in South Africa. Rotondwa, a work experience learning student, was introduced to the crystallisation of sodium phosphate ( Na2HPO). A solution of 30%Na2HPO4 is fed into a continuous cooling crystallizer at rate of 10kg/s. The feed enters at 95C and is cooled to 70C. The solubility of Na2HPO4 at 70C is 14kg anhydrous salt/ 100kg of water. At the temperature to which the solution is cooled Na2HPO4.2H2O is the stable form of crystal formed. It can be taken that the 3% of the water entering the crystallizer is vaporized. Additional information: Atomic mass: Na=23g/mol,H=1g/mol,P=31g/mol,O=16g/mol 1.1. By making use of the formula given below, calculate the yield. y=1c2(R1)Rw1[c1c2(1E)]
