Lab Assignment: GEARHART HALL COURTYARD- The field trip begins outside the lab in the courtyard of Gearhart Hall, housing the Department of Geosciences, Honor's College, and the Graduate School. Gearhart Hall was built in 1935 as the "Classroom Building" at the same time as the Home Economics Building and the old Student Union, now Futrall Memorial Hall. The Classroom Building was finished in 1940, and initially held faculty only. The adjacent Commerce Building was finished in 1947, and the two buildings were connected. The combined structures were named the Business Administration Building, housing that program until it moved into the new Walton College of Business Building on Ozark Avenue in 1978. The "Old Business Building" was then renamed Ozark Hall, and in 1987 housed the Graduate School, the Department of Geosciences, and the nursing program, now Eleanor Mann School of Nursing with its own building.
