Lab goals: Predict the electric field due to a collection of point charges. Achieve equilibrium out of static electric charges. Finding motion of electric charges in the presence of electric fields. Equipment: This lab uses a virtual simulation in the second part and no other equipment. Instructions: Enter your answers by typing below the solid line after each question. If you wish to use a different color text to make sure your answer stands out, feel free to do so. Include pictures by copy pasting them in this file. Do part 1 first (by hand or on a tablet). Start the web simulation program at https://phet.colorado.edu/sims/html/charges-and-fields/latest/charges-and-fields_en.html (PhET "Charges and Fields"). You will want to check the "grid" and "Values" boxes. Uncheck every other boxes. Reproduce the exact charge setup of lab 2 part 1 in the simulation. Place your charges on the grid and then place an "E-field Sensor" (orange circle) at point P. What field does it measure and how does that compare to your prediction from part 1? (Note: the program gives the magnitude of the E field in units of volts/meter, which is the same as newtons/coulomb as we will see later. ) Reminder from Phys
