Lab Simulation Use the online resource (web link below) to simulate simple harmonic motion lab. https://phet.colorado.edu/sims/html/masses-and-springs-basics/latest/masses-and-springs- basics en.html Objectives: Develop a thorough understanding of SHM Learn to calculate the spring constant from a known mass and period of a SHM Learn to calculate an unknown mass from the spring constant and period of a SHM Learn to compare theoretical (calculations) vs experimental (simulated) dataset for accuracy Learn to perform error analysis from a dataset Lab Activity/Report Open the above link and select the "Lab" option from the menu by clicking on it. Use the known mass to find the spring constant by measuring the period of the oscillations (measure time for 10 oscillations and divide by ten). Compare the spring constant found this way with the spring constant obtained by measuring the distance that the spring stretches. Calculate the percentage difference between these two methods. Which method is more accurate? Using the known spring constant, find out the three (3) unknown masses by measuring their period of oscillation. Write a short lab report of this activity using the format used in previous lab reports
