Lab04.pdf.pdf - Adobe Reader File Edit View Open Window Help T ]' < 100% Tools * Fill & Sign Comment Sign In Checkpoint 4 Referring to the datasets downloaded in Practical 1, "Acron.xls" contains data about acorn size in Oak trees Source: Aizen and Patterson (1990), Journal of Biogeography, 17, 327-332 Fifty species of oak trees grow in the United States. Twenty-eight species of oak from the Atlantic region and eleven from the California region were studied. The size of each species' acorns was measured, expressed as a volume in cm. (Measurements of length and width were used to estimate an ellipsoidal volume.) The range of the species and the species tree height were also determined. The data are given in the Excel workbook acorn.xls. This exercise is concerned with acorn size, and whether geography (Atlantic or California) is a factor.
