Last year in Saskatchewan, 52.6% of first-time home buyers purchased row/townhouse-type homes, 30.1% of first-time home buyers purchased semi-detatched-type homes, and 17.3% of first-time homebuyers purchased detached-type homes. In an attempt to empower first-time home buyers, the provincial government implemented a number of new policies. To see whether these policy changes are having an impact, a random sample of first-time home buyers was taken from all first-time home buyers since the policy changes were implemented. The purchased dwelling type was recorded for these first-time home buyers. The results are shown in part b. below.
