LAW 534 RESEARCH ESSAY (Winter 2021 Q DESCRIPTION OF ESSAY: Your essay must meet all the criteria in this document. 1. Applies Law 534 principles and concepts. Your essay mu st relate to one or more of our course topics and it must apply PRINCIPLES from our course. . Uses current Canadian issue(s). Your essay mu st discuss a current Canadian issue (i.e. a topic reported in the general media within the last 7 years). . Relates to government regulation of business. Your essay must be related to the general theme of our course government regulation of business; and . Cites a minimum of SIX sources other than the class text book or any lectures. Your essay must make reference to various outside sources such as books and articles (examples: academic journals, newspapers, magazines or internet articles). YOUR ESSAY MUST CITE AT LEAST SIX SOURCES OTHER THAN THE CLASS TEXT BOOK OR LECTURES. Citing a source means that the main body of your essay directly refers to the source to support propositions made (through the use of footnotes see discussion on footnotes below). It is not acceptable to simply list a source in your bibliography if the source was not directly cited within the main body of your essay. IMPORTANT REMINDER: Students are required to comply with Ryerson University Policies including the ones on Academic Integrity. Submission of previous work: Submitting the same work to more than one course, without instructor approval, is considered academic misconduct. LENGTH AND FORMAT: Length requirements. The essay must be between 1500 2200 words in length. 1500 words is the minimum length required in order to be considered for grading. Exceeding the maximum word count will result in a grade reduction (the instructor will stop reading at 2200 words). Footnotes are included in the word count. However, your required bibliography DOES NOT count towards the word count. Format. Page format is to be: 8.5\" x 11\" paper, double spaced, 10-12 point font with 1 inch borders.
