Case Problem No. 1: Brando borrowed from Casiano PhP10,000.00 payable in one year. When Casiano was in the province, Casiano's 17-year-old son borrowed PhP5,000.00 from Brando for his school tuition. However, the son spent it instead in nightclubing. When the debt to Casiano fell due, Brando tendered only PhP5,000.00, claiming compensation on the PhP5,000.00 borrowed by Casiano's son.
