Law enforcement efforts against corruption in international business transactions gained heavy momentum in 2010. Since 2010, unprecedented numbers of cases have been brought to courts and some of the largest ever fines and penalties for violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) have been handed out. The main goal of the FCPA was to reduce or eliminate illicit bribes made by U.S. firms to foreign officials. Simply stated, \"the FCPA prohibits any bribe to a foreign ofcial to inuence any official act, induce unlawful action, or obtain or retain business\" and it requires that publicly traded companies achieve certain \"standards regarding their accounting practices, books, and records\" (Bixby, 2010}. In a complex and increasingly more stringent regulatory environment, there's often too much risk exposure and too few resources to close the gap. \"The challenges are compounded for large organizations and global companies with multiple sites of operation and diverse, transient work-forces (Nunez & Rogers, 2010)\". As the corporation expands and grows, it becomes more difficult to manage those processes and actions of its employees that are not within the geographical area of its base of operations
