Leadership development does not follow automatically from leadership training or practical leadership activities but occurs, is internalized, and creates long term change through an individual's reflection on those experiences (White, Guthrie & Torres, 2019; Ash & Clayton, 2009). One can emerge untouched from even the best leadership development programs if not engaging personally with and integrating the principles and perspectives they offer.
Leadership Blog:
- discuss what you see as the most relevant, challenging, or interesting concepts/skills raised during leadership and communications class preparation reading/viewing or in the class itself AND/OR
- relate one or two concepts/skills to your own leadership experiences, explaining what you learned from this exercise AND/OR
- identify new insights gained and/or discuss how you might utilize something you learned to deal with an upcoming leadership opportunity.
