Leadership development is a continual, systemic process that helps individuals, groups, and organisations attain common goals and objectives. This description captures leadership development's process-oriented, continuing nature. This definition of leadership growth fits well with Day, Harrison, and Halpin's (2009) assessment of individual development. Day et al. say leadership growth is embedded in cognitive, moral, and identity development of the leader.
