Leadership Development Plan - Template Part 1 - Your personal mission and vision: Just like an organization would identify their mission and vision, write these statements about yourself. *Make sure to note values that help shape your mission and vision. Part 2 - Conduct a SWOT analysis on yourself relative to your career.

Part 3 - Define your personal leadership brand by answering the questions below.

1. What do you want to accomplish in the next year?
2. What do you wish to be known for?
3. Define your identity.
4. Construct your leadership brand statement and answer the following questions:
   1. "I want to be known for being ______________ so that I can deliver __________."
      1. Is this the brand identity that represents who I am and what I can do?
      2. Is this brand identity something that creates value in the eyes of my organization and its stakeholders?
      3. What risks am I taking by exhibiting this brand? Can I live this brand?
      4. Share this leadership brand statement with others and provide some feedback they provide you. Consider this person's position and relationship to you and summarize the discussion.

Part 4 - Goal setting. Remember to make sure these goals are SMART.

1. Identify 1 short-term (1 month - 1 year) goal and state objectives for this goal. Outline the specific steps and actions you will take to achieve this short term goal. Consider training options, experience opportunities and daily lifestyle choices available to you.
2. Identify 1 long-term leadership goal and state how your short-term goal/objectives tie into the long-term goal. This can be leadership, management, or personal goals.

Part 5 - Define how you will measure your development and success as a leader. This may or may not attach itself to monetary success. Describe the specific actions or outcome you will use to determine this.
