Lean Assembly and Prefabrication

Lean assembly is the process of putting materials, systems, and components in place to

create a completed facility. Using prefabrication, and$/$or completed modules, can also

provide opportunities for managing the supply chain. It is most useful when a project has

numerous systems and$/$or components of work that are repetitive. Less fabrication on the

jobsite allows workers to concentrate on installation instead of using valuable workspace

to set up workshops to convert raw materials into supplies ready for installation. Other

potential benefits from prefabrication might include less material waste to dispose of onsite

and greater potential for standardization in a more controlled environment by technicians

specializing in the prefabrication.
