Leanda is a peer worker and involved in the program that provides activities and social outings for young people. Today the group are at the zoo. One of the young men Raphael asks Leanda if he can climb over the fence into the elephant enclosure as he loves elephants, and this was the highlight of his day. Leanda tells him to come away from the fence, he cannot climb over it as it is not allowed, and he won't be able to get over it anyway.

One of Leanda's friends has discovered her ex-partner has another girlfriend, only two weeks after breaking up! She has been texting Leanda all morning. Leanda has been providing as much support as she can, but she needs to focus on her job. Another text comes through, and her friend said she is going to approach the new girlfriend and find out when they got together. She is suspicious about the timing.

As Leanda texts her back to not get involved, be mature and move on, she hears some people yelling. She looks up from her phone to see Raphael climbing the fence. She runs over towards him yelling at him to get down. Raphael is startled by her sudden reaction and let's go of the fence. He falls on the ground and breaks his wrist. Raphael is taken to hospital.

On the way to hospital her mobile battery dies. Once they are in triage, Leanda is able to connect her charger. She sees many missed calls from her supervisor. She listens to the messages from the supervisor who is furious that her phone wasn't working, and she didn't think to use a land line.
