Learning Activity 8: Slander or Libel Let's return to the four examples given at the beginning of this lesson. 1. Your ex-partner says you were a clumsy dancer and boring. Were you slandered? What type of harm must you prove, or what else can the slander refer to? What defence can she use? 2. In court you're called a liar. Is this slander? Explain. 3. A critic says your piano concert was horrible. Were you libelled? What defence is available, and how could you attack it? 4.
