Exercise A:

1. Scroll over the word Search at the top of the ASA catalog's home page.

2. Select Advanced search from the menu.

3. When the Advanced Search screen opens: Change Item ID to 'Words' by scrolling up the drop-down menu; Do the same thing in the second box to change Author to 'Words.'

4. In the box to the right of Media Type, select the word 'Book.'

5. In the first column in the middle, enter the keywords 'information literacy.'

6. In the second column in the middle, enter the keyword 'internet.'

7. Hit search, and you should get a list of results.

8. Select the book with the subtitle 'Misinformation on the internet' published in 2002.

9. Click on the title of the book to open the full electronic record.

10. Answer the questions listed below:

a. What is the name of the author? _____________________________________________

b. What is the complete title of this book? ________________________________________

c. What is the name of the publisher? ____________________________________________

d. What is the call # of the book? _______________________________________________

e. What are the third and fourth subjects that are covered in this book?

2. Select the title 'Hands-on information literacy activities.'

3. When the full record for the book opens, click on the 7th Subject listed, and you will get a list

4. Select the title 'Information research' published in 2002 and answer the questions listed

below:
