Like all things, there are ways things are preferred to be done. In project management, people may choose how they want their project to be completed by their team. These things are called "methodologies". The most common methods are the "Agile" and "Scrum" method. There are several steps to following the agile project management method, but the main ones that always need to be followed are 1. Pre planning, 2. Planning the initial sprint, 3. execute the sprint, 4. hold a review, 5. Repeat steps 3 and 4. This would be repeated until the project is completed and the customer is handed the final product. In Scrum, there are several differences. The biggest one being that it functions almost like a game, because it was modeled after that of Rugby. This method provides a framework and you and your team work around it to find what best works for all of you together, similar to a playbook in sports. No teams play (work) the same so you have to be good at finding what works for yours. There are three roles in scrum, the ScrumMaster, the Product Owner and the Team.
