Lindal owns an acre of registered land, known as Dunlyn Farm, which they inherited from their grandparents on 15 May 2004. They kept the land for sentimental reasons; however, despite its location five miles from Lindal's home, they haven't ever visited. Two weeks ago, Lindal received the following letter:
Dear Lindal,
Your address has been passed to us from the owners of High Ham Farm. We are now the owners of Dunlyn Farm - our cows have been grazing on the land since 2006, we've planted hedges, erected a sign and we've met all the neighbours and informed them that the land is ours. We understand that the next step is for you to write to HM Land Registry confirming our ownership, and we would be grateful if you could do so as soon as possible please.
Best regards,
Gidhle and Junniper
Lindal seeks your advice as to whether Gidhle and Junniper are now the owners of Dunlyn Farm and, if not, if there is anything that may be done to prevent them from becoming the owners. Advise Lindal in the form of a letter, using clear and appropriate language.
