Click on the link above to see a comprehensive list of departments and administrative agencies of the California Government. Your assignment is simple: Select a California Administrative Agency and tell your classmates about that agency.

Important: First come - first served no duplicate agencies allowed or you will not get credit for your work - canvas time and date stamp control and use the name of the agency as the title of your thread

There is a 150 minimum word count for your post. To earn full credit for your work the body of your post MUST include:

1. Name of Agency
2. Purpose of Agency - When was it established?
3. Director of Agency - When were they appointed and by whom?
4. What is your impression of the agency - is it useful, necessary, or should it be eliminated to "trim the fat" from government?
5. A detailed explanation of the specific function of the agency including the title of the laws (if any) that the agency is responsible for enforcing and / or overseeing.

The rules:

ONE AGENCY PER STUDENT - FIRST COME - FIRST SERVED - Be sure you check to see that you are not using an agency that has already been chosen by your classmate. You can check other posts and subject lines before you create one to make sure your agency has not been taken. If you repeat an agency that has been taken, you will receive ZERO credit. Canvas time and date stamp will control! Helpful Hint: You can "reserve" your agency by creating your reply/ thread and using the name of your agency in your subject line.

Other helpful hints:

• For your post: Claim your agency by creating a thread and naming the agency in your thread and go back to edit and complete the assignment.
• Draft your post in Word or other word processing software - then copy and paste into your DB thread (no Google docs or Apple pages links please.)
• For your two replies to your classmates' posts: Do you have a question or comment about your classmate's agency? Have you had a disagreement or experience with that agency? Are you surprised, delighted, saddened, or relieved to learn of the existence or possible dismantling of that agency? Then let us know all about it!
• Carefully proofread your post for spelling, punctuation, grammar and quality of writing. Read it to a friend!
• You will be marked down for copying from websites and passing that off as your own work.
• Provide your word count at the end of your submission.
