Using a utilitarian framework (as described in Week 01) analyse the decision not to comply with paragraph 4.4. of Prinicple 1 of the Responsible AI Framework discussed in class. Analyse it from the perspective of ABC Co.

FACTS: ABC Co. is a consulting form that does software development for a wide variety of clients. ABC Co. has just entered into a contract to train an AI system for DEF Co. The AI is being trained to recognize people. The AI will be used in conjunction with a robot. The first use of the robot will be to locate individuals in crowds (for example, finding a lost child). Once located, the coordiantes are sent back to base, and the robot stays with the person. However, DEF Co. has told the sales staff at ABC Co. that once the AI becomes good at tidentifying faces, DEF Co. will be developing another version of the robot for military and law enforcement use. It will be armed with a lethal weapon. With the lethal version, if the individual does not remain within six feet of the robot, the robot will assess whether or not it can safely shoot the individual, and if it can, the robot will shoot to kill.

A large online retailer has purchased a fleet of drones for package delivery, and it is using them to deliver parcels to customers around Toronto. The drones were produced by DR1 Co. The self-guided navigation system used in the drones was sold to DR1 Co. by SELFDRIVE Co. SELF DRIVE Co. purchased the base artificial intelligence system from AI Co., and to train the AI, SELFDRIVE Co. used data sets that it licensed from DATA Co. The system that is used to indicate when to drop the parcel is triggered automatically when a drone is no longer flying.

While delivering a package to 124 Elm Street, one of the drones struck a person standing on the front porch and dropped its parcel on the person. The pedestrian is badly injured.

List each legal person that the pedestrian is going to sue and explain why that person should be held accountable.
